Please find some of our frequently asked questions about Pilgrim below:-
1. What is Pilgrim jewellery made of?
Pilgrim jewellery is hand-made. It is made of tin, zinc or brass, which is copper plated. The copper is then plated with either sterling silver or 16 to 22 carat gold. Silver and gold surfaces can be oxidised to different degrees. All jewellery is surface treated with a very strong finish to prevent rapid oxidising.
2. Are all products nickel-free?
Yes, all Pilgrim products are nickel-free. We conduct on-going random checks during production. And we get documentation from our suppliers that all products are nickel-free.
3. How can I keep my jewellery clean?
To take good care of your jewellery after use, wipe it with a treated cloth before hanging in place. This is particularly important if the jewellery has been in contact with sweat, chlorine, perfume or hairspray. Swarovski crystals, pearls, and leather cannot tolerate chemicals of any kind. Do not store jewellery in the bathroom as the excess moisture will cause it to oxidise faster.
4. Why are there colour differences in semi precious stones?
Semi precious stones are natural stones. The stones are not given colour; they have natural colour nuances. The same stone can consist of very light nuances and very dark nuances and still be the same stone. This is what makes them so beautiful.
